So, get this—if you’re into the whole cat and bunny vibe in Final Fantasy 14, looks like there’s finally some good news. During some kind of live chat or stream (I dunno, I wasn’t there), the game’s developer said something big was finally happening. Apparently, as part of Patch 7.3, the Hrothgar and Viera are gonna get their headgear stuff sorted out. Or whatever that means. Finally!
I mean, it’s kind of hilarious if you think about it. These characters have been around since, what, 2019? They showed up in the Shadowbringers expansion. They’ve got these unique heads, like with the cat ears and bunny ears, and it seems that none of the headgear really fit them. Imagine, like, wearing a hat that doesn’t sit right ‘cause your ears are just doing their own thing. Awkward, right?
Anyway – no, wait – what was I saying? Right… so Square Enix, the big brains behind all this, said they’re looking to add more headgear options later on. And frankly, they better hurry up with those paid outfits too. Because, come on, anyone playing wants to look snazzy.
As much as I could go on about cat ears and whatnot, that’s not all that Yoshida and Murouchi spilled during this so-called Letter from the Producer gig on Friday.
Patch 7.3, they’ve given it this big dramatic name, The Promise of Tomorrow. It’s supposed to wrap up the Dawntrail storyline. Sounds dramatic, huh? That’s dropping in early August or something. Mark your calendars—or just forget, who knows.
Plus, there are whispers about new scenarios with folks called the Yok Huy. Oh, and a level 100 expert dungeon, laughably titled The Meso Terminal. Then there’s this trial, which they haven’t even bothered naming yet—how mysterious! You can tackle it at normal or extreme difficulty, because, why not?
And let’s not snooze on the new 24-player alliance raid named San d’Oria: The Second Walk. There’s even a fresh Unreal trial against Seiryu in The Wreath of Snakes—why’s everything gotta sound so intense? Lastly, some new Deep Dungeon called Pilgrim’s Traverse. All these sound like way too much work, if you ask me.
Whatever, the real deal here is that these poor Hrothgar and Viera won’t have to endure their six-year streak of going hatless anymore! I mean, what a tragedy, right?
For the curious cats still hanging around (see what I did there?), Final Fantasy 14 is ready to download or whatever on Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox, Windows, all that jazz. Go on, hop to it! Or don’t—I’m not your boss.
