Take-Two Interactive recently hinted at their plans to back the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Although they aren’t spilling all the beans just yet, this is promising news for fans of both the gaming giant and Nintendo.
Over the years, Take-Two has brought a variety of games to the current Nintendo Switch, including hits like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Not to mention more recent titles like New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, NBA 2K25, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, elaborated on this partnership during their Q3 2025 earnings call. He explained, “We’ve always had a solid rapport with Nintendo. Our strategy has always been to support platforms where it made sense. There was a period when Nintendo aimed more at younger gamers, and our approach matched that. But now, with the Nintendo Switch and potentially the Switch 2, they’ve broadened their horizons to include a much wider audience. Just look at Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, which is now on the Switch. While I can’t give you specifics at the moment, supporting the Switch 2 is something we fully anticipate.”
For those eager to dive deeper into what the upcoming console has to offer, you’re in luck. Nintendo will be hosting a dedicated Direct presentation for Switch 2. Set your alarms for this in-depth reveal, as it will be streaming live at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on April 2nd.
As for the Nintendo Switch 2 itself, it’s set to debut globally in 2025, though the exact release date remains under wraps for now. Be sure to keep an eye out for further updates and trailers as Nintendo gears up for this exciting launch.
