Nintendo has just unveiled a new app for smart devices called Nintendo Today. Think of it as your personal daily calendar, but with a Nintendo twist.

Following this week’s Nintendo Direct, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, you’ll be able to get the scoop on the Nintendo Switch 2 right through the app. Staying informed has never been easier.

Shigeru Miyamoto shares, "Since 2011, Nintendo Direct presentations have brought updates directly to our fans, and they’ve grown into events widely watched by many. We’re genuinely thankful for that."

He continues, "While we’ll keep hosting Nintendo Direct shows, we’re also introducing a new way to deliver information straight to you. This new app, Nintendo Today, serves as a dynamic daily calendar. With it, you can explore a variety of Nintendo events and receive an abundance of content about Nintendo games and characters every single day."

Starting April 2, following the Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Switch 2, the app will provide daily updates on the new console, straight to your device.

The app’s standout features include:

• Daily Updates: Dive into all things Nintendo! Whether it’s news pertaining to the Nintendo Switch 2, insights about beloved characters, or entertaining videos and comics, the app supplies you with endless enjoyment every day.

• Animated Calendar: This feature allows you to track dates with flair. Select from themes featuring classics like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and more.

• Event Schedule: Look ahead and plan for Nintendo Direct presentations, game launches, in-game happenings, and beyond with an easy-to-use schedule. Tailor event displays based on categories or the games you’re playing.

• Customize Your Home Screen: With a widget feature, you can view the calendar and content directly on your home screen, decked out with art from your favorite Nintendo franchises. A themed wallpaper could spice things up too!
