Earlier today, during the Nintendo Treehouse live presentation, the team at Nintendo gave us a sneak peek at some classic Gamecube titles heading to Nintendo Switch Online for the upcoming Switch 2. While going through the options, something intriguing caught our eye: an optional CRT filter. This stands out because, so far, the Nintendo 64 games on NSO haven’t had this feature available.
What makes this addition fascinating is pondering how it will adjust to the enhanced 900p resolution. Will it maintain this resolution, or will it downgrade somewhat to mimic the original CRT display more faithfully? This development also raises another question: could the Nintendo 64 games be next in line to get the same CRT filter treatment? Only time will tell, but it certainly opens up some exciting possibilities for retro gaming enthusiasts.
