Ok, so here’s the thing. Xbox decided to get a bit funky with our consoles. You know, spice things up a bit. This week, Xbox Insiders — and honestly, that includes those of us who are somehow still navigating life with grace and confusion — will see some new ways to mess with the “recently played” list on Home. I guess they’re trying to make it more… us? Or them? Who knows at this point.
Wait, What’s Happening?
So, picture this. Your Home screen is getting this little makeover, and now you can tweak it in three (yes, three) whole new ways. Honestly, it’s like rearranging the furniture in your living room and pretending it changes your whole life. Which, actually — is totally a mood.
Anyway, there’s this image they showed us. It’s got the customization menu up there, you know, the screenshot no one asked for but here it is.
-
Hide System Apps: Because why on earth would I want my screen cluttered with apps I never asked for? Now, boom! See them? Now you don’t. Enjoy the cleaner look. Or don’t. It’s an option now.
-
Pin Favorites to Home: Oh, thank goodness. Now I can keep my top three favorite games — only three, mind you — right there. It feels like having reserved parking spots for your brain.
- Reduce Tile Count (Coming Soon): They say it’s coming soon, so let’s hope we don’t forget about it. Minimalism is the new chic, apparently, and now your screen can match that empty feel.
These new features roll out first for the cool kids in Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha, so shout out to you guys. And they really, really want your feedback because that’s how they do their thing — adjusting as we collectively react to their updates.
Why Even Bother?
So they say Home should feel more like, I don’t know, your space? More room for your games, less junk you didn’t ask for. Kind of like when you clean out your closet and suddenly feel like you’ve got your life together. We’ve all been there, right?
They want to hear all your thoughts. Like, really hear you — via the Report a Problem button or the Xbox Insiders subreddit. Apparently, your voices help in crafting the Xbox realm.
Let’s Craft This Thing Together
Big thanks to all those Xbox Insiders throwing their two cents into the ring. Your words? They’re golden to the Xbox crew. Seriously.
Not an Insider yet? Want to be part of this slightly chaotic journey and get new stuff early? Join up! It involves downloading the Xbox Insider Hub, doing a little dance of joy on your Xbox or PC (I mean, I assume that’s part of it), and becoming one of the first to try out all this goodness.
That’s the scoop. Or my vague version of it, at least. Keep a lookout for whatever they decide to roll out next. Meanwhile, I’ll be here, staring blankly at my Home screen, wondering what it all means.
