Major spoilers for Lies of P: Overture’s bosses incoming. You’ve been warned.
Alright, let’s dive into this wild ride known as Lies of P. So, Overture—that story-loaded DLC—manages to outdo itself big time with some of its bosses. You’ve got characters like Markiona, Puppeteer of Death, and Arlecchino, the Blood Artist. They’re like… truly unique. They stick out, you know? But then, there’s a bit of déjà vu with some parts. The DLC leans back a bit too comfortably on what it already knows with a few Stalker bosses and some recycled ones from the main game.
Like, take the Anguished Guardian of the Ruins. Pretty similar vibes with the Fallen Archbishop Andreus. Seriously, it’s like comparing two sides of a coin that’s been through a gross, unfortunate mutation. But oh boy, the Premetamorphic Green Hunter? It’s literally a redo of the Green Monster of the Swamp from the base game. No surprises there, since it’s essentially the same beast. Reminds me of how Star Wars Jedi: Survivor tips its hat to the infamous boss from Fallen Order.

Lies of P pulled off a surprise release with its Overture DLC at Summer Game Fest. But did it leave players caught off guard?
Oh, Green Monster of the Swamp, or ‘Shrek’ as fans like to call it. It’s one exhausting boss fight. And they really dial it up in its second phase. It does this weird merger with the Scrapped Watchman, transforming into the Puppet-Devouring Green Monster. Talk about extra steps!
Want to take down that pesky Green Monster? Pair the Carcass Butcher’s Amulet with that snazzy Flame Grindstone, plus some Thermite throwables. Takes it down a notch real quick.
Here’s something fun — the only boss you could miss in Lies of P: Overture is the Premetamorphic Green Hunter. And, yeah, it’s basically the Green Monster’s younger self. See, Overture happens before the base game. So you end up meeting a creature you’ll already have defeated later in the main timeline, but this time as its younger, less terrifying version.
What sets this young Hunter apart, besides its freshness, is its habit of regaining health through command grabs. It’s sort of its go-to move. But just when you’re getting into it, the fight cuts off short. The darn thing runs away! It’s like the game’s way of letting it live to fight another day as the Swamp’s infamous Green Monster. Really ties the story together in a nice loop. Only boss that hides away in Overture, too.
Star Wars Jedi Gets Its Money’s Worth Out of the Iconic Oggdo Bogdo
Remember taking on Oggdo Bogdo in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order? A tough choice right at the start about whether to take down Bogano’s resident terror. Completely optional but so satisfying if you manage it. It’s the original ‘git gud’ boss. And, hey, you can revisit anytime once you’ve got the Stinger Mantis hopping across planets.
Fast forward five years to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. They’ve really packed in changes, but that doesn’t stop them from stirring up the nostalgia pot with a surprise guest — the Spawn of Oggdo. Unlike the Green Hunter’s backstory, this one is explicitly Oggdo’s offspring, keeping the original’s aesthetics and adding a dash of reminiscing.
Get this: Jedi: Survivor has this Force Echo challenge where you battle both Oggdo Bogdo and its kid. Talk about milking nostalgia! A tedious fight but nostalgic in all the right (and wrong) ways.
