Alright, so Battlefield 6 is out in the wild—got unleashed by EA, right? Oh man, they didn’t hold back during the big multiplayer gameplay gig. Content creators were all over it, blasting live sessions like there was no tomorrow.
Anyway, EA’s spelled out the juicy bits. Especially for PC users—brace yourselves, folks. Not everyone’s gonna be throwing a party over this. (Don’t shoot the messenger!)
So, here’s the scoop. Battlefield Studios casually dropped that Battlefield 6 is gonna roll out with this Javelin Anticheat thing on PC. Apparently, it’s EA’s brainchild, running behind the scenes like some digital watchdog. Weird name, isn’t it? But hey, I guess it stuck since April. It’s been sneaking around since 2022, so not brand spanking new.
This Javelin’s already poked its nose into other EA titles—FIFA, Madden, the F1 series, you name it. Came in swinging into Battlefield with the 2042 Season 6. So naturally, it’s tagging along with the new release.
Oh, and heads up, the beta is your playground for this tech experiment. Better warm up to the idea of enabling Secure Boot on Windows. It’s this security doohickey relying on TPM 2.0. Most modern rigs are cool with it, so no biggie—hopefully.
Kernel-level anticheat may sound technical and all, but it’s not exactly a unicorn. Loads of modern multiplayer games take similar routes. You’ve got names like BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat leading the charge. Even ol’ Call of Duty isn’t left behind—shoutout to Ricochet for that.
And yeah, letting these programs dig so deep into your PC’s guts? Controversial, to say the least. Especially if you’re a Linux/SteamOS fan—tough break there. But like it or not, it’s one of the few ways to outsmart cheats these days. Not bulletproof, mind you, just pretty darn good.
Season’s debut is straight around the corner—October 10 to be exact, hitting PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S. Mark those calendars and gear up! (Or not, your call.)
