Okay, so where do I even begin with this? DOOM: The Dark Ages is finally out! The anticipation has been wild, right? I mean, a prequel to DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal — that’s like going back in time while moving forward? If that makes sense. Anyway, people are losing their minds with excitement, and who can blame them? Reviews are glowing, and well, Metacritic seems to think it’s all sunshine and rainbows, too.
But wait — there’s a catch. Not everyone’s gaming setup is up to snuff. If you’re not blessed with a shiny Xbox Series X|S or PS5, then it’s time to check that dusty Windows PC. Specs, folks. They matter. Sure, you could build a new rig, buy one — or just, you know, upgrade the old faithful. And should I mention the giveaways? AMD and Intel processors, a boatload of DDR5 memory, not to mention NVIDIA’s hulking RTX 5080 GPUs. Those cards alone could probably launch a small craft into space.
Apparently, most entries are straightforward — email here, follow there. Although, there are regional quirks. Don’t get me started on those. Falcon Northwest and pals are a U.S.-only party; Cybertek’s chilling in France, and the Colorful GPU’s doing an Asia-Pacific tour. MSI laptop’s entry is open worldwide — maybe its marketing team likes to travel, who knows.
