Oh man, Doom The Dark Ages, right? I mean, who would’ve thought this game would have 22 missions? That’s a lot of ripping and tearing, but I guess that’s part of the fun, huh? Let’s see if I can remember them all. It’s kind of like trying to recall all the random snacks you ate last week, except these are levels. Anyway, here we go:
So first up is the Village of Khalim. Fun name, isn’t it? Almost sounds like a place you’d go to get a really fancy coffee. After that, you’ve got Hebeth, which feels more like a sneeze than a mission—sorry, can’t help but laugh about that. Then there’s Barrier Core and Sentinel Barracks. Both sound super serious, like they mean business.
Then we head to The Holy City of Aratum. Honestly, it sounds like the kind of place where you’d have to whisper, but no time for that—you’re too busy blasting demons. Which reminds me, there’s a Siege… actually, two of them: Siege – Part 1 and Siege – Part 2. Must’ve been quite the tussle to split it into two parts!
Next up, Abyssal Forest. Ever think about how forests in these games always end up being “mystical” or “haunted”? I just want to see one where it’s like a nice park with squirrels. But let’s get back on track. There’s Ancestral Forge and The Forsaken Plains. Those areas have a ring to them, like they’re filled with echoey chants or something.
Right after, Hellbreaker just rampages in, sounding all hardcore as usual. Gotta wonder, do demons ever take a day off? Anyway, then you’re at the Sentinel Command Station. Can you imagine what it’d be like to work there? Anyway, I digress.
From Beyond comes next—it just makes me think of sci-fi radio shows, you know? Spire of Nerathul is looming up, like some creepy castle in the middle of the night. City of Ry’uul follows, which, honestly, sounds either mysterious or like a yoga pose. The Kar’Thul Marshes round things out (like a marshmallow, kinda).
Temple of Lomarith sounds like a nice spot. I mean, who doesn’t love a good temple adventure? Then things get weird with Belly of the Beast. I don’t know about you, but I’m picturing something slithery. The Harbor of Souls is next, which feels like an odd spot for a vacation, but hey, who am I to judge?
Finally, we reach Resurrection—I wonder if there’s a twist there—and then end with the Final Battle. Really sells the whole climax thing, right? Oh, and Reckoning. Can’t forget that. It’s like the big exclamation point at the end of a wild ride.
And yes, that’s all the missions—22 to keep you glued to your screen. Doom’s good like that. If you’re itching to know how long it’ll take you to tackle Slayer’s latest romp, well, there are guides for that. Oh, and for the gaming enthusiasts from 2025, there are some killer PC games to dig into.
So, there you have it. Mystical forests and marshmallow marshes. What a journey!
