Man, so Genshin Impact is about to pull a vanishing act on PS4. It’s like one day you wake up, and your favorite coffee shop is just…gone, you know? Anyway – oh, got sidetracked – back to the point: Genshin’s moving on, leaving us with the cold shoulder. The dev folks, MiHoYo (is it HoYoverse now? I can never keep up), just dropped the bombshell that starting next month, PS4 folks are out of luck. No more updates, no more downloads. Nada. It’s like, why though? Something to do with PS4’s limitations. Maybe it’s just tired? Who knows.
So, the breakdown is in phases, like peeling an onion, only each layer makes you cry a bit more. First, September 10 is the date the game vanishes from the PlayStation Store. But hey, if you snagged it earlier, it’s chill, you can still download it later. Weird, right?
Fast forward to February 25, 2026 – mark your calendars or something – the in-game shop shutters its windows. No more buying stuff, top-ups, whatever. They do say you’ll keep getting whatever you bought till, well, the end. The grand goodbye happens August 4, 2026. It’s the final curtain call, no more logging in, no support, zip.
And about those visual specs – talk about techy kaboom. PC and mobile also getting a spec boost. Not crazy unreachable, but if your gear’s lagging behind, expect a rocky road. Might not crash, but performance will probably remind you of dial-up speeds. Kidding. Or not.
Oh, and before I forget – update 5.8 just rolled out. New stuff, blah blah, Ineffa is here. Citlali and Mualani too, if those names ring any bells. Go give our build guide a look. Or don’t. Up to you. Pretty sure we updated the Genshin codes page, because hey, we’re helpful like that.
