Oh man, so, Grounded 2, right? It’s coming — wait, lemme backtrack. What I meant to say is, if you’re on Xbox Game Pass, good news… kinda. It’ll be on there for Xbox Series X|S and PC, but not if you’ve got that console-only standard deal. Weird, right?
Okay, okay. So, this is a big one, coming out in 2025. Yup, Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment, the folks behind the original Grounded. Got teens shrunk to ant size again — crazy concept, but here we are. This sequel’s got a new map, Brookhollow Park, which makes that old backyard look like a sandbox, I guess. You can ride bugs — like ants, spiders… you name it. Hope you’re not arachnophobic.
And yeah, previews say it’s bigger and bolder, despite being mini-sized. Launches July 29th-ish into Early Access. So, folks on Xbox Series X|S and PC are curious, like, “Can we just dive in with Xbox Game Pass?” Spoiler: You sure can, if you’ve got the right one. Day one, baby.
Here’s the nitty-gritty: you can play it on Xbox and Xbox PC with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Love the cloud gaming option—progress travels with you. But, heads up, if you got the console-specific $14.99 Xbox Game Pass Standard, no dice. Sorry, not happening—unless you pony up for Ultimate. Silver lining: Sometimes, you might find deals like $10.89 at CDKeys. Score.
Now, switching gears! You’re not tied to Game Pass if that’s not your jam. Buy it right out on Xbox Series X|S, through the Xbox PC app, or on good ol’ Steam. Regular $29.99, but, hold up, there’s a $39.99 Founder’s Edition. Fancy extras, emotes, digital art stuff… sounds legit.
Quick side note: Prices are for the Early Access period, apparently. Means after it’s fully out, the price might jump, like Grounded did before. So if you’re keen on saving some bucks, snatch it early. Who knows what it’s gonna cost later?
Anyway, what was I even saying? Oh yeah—see if Game Pass is worth it for you. But hey, at least we got options, right? Happy gaming, folks!
