Nintendo has announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, they’ll be streaming the Nintendo Direct focusing on the Nintendo Switch 2. This presentation is set to last about an hour.
If you’re excited to catch the broadcast, you can do so bright and early at 6 AM PT, or perhaps a more reasonable time of 9 AM ET. For folks in the UK, it will stream at 2 PM BST and those in Central Europe can watch around 3 PM CEST.
Last month, Nintendo finally pulled back the curtain on the Nintendo Switch 2, putting an end to a flurry of rumors, leaks, and endless speculation about what’s next for their portable home console. The brief reveal video got hearts racing, as it not only showcased the sleek design of the new console but also dropped a tantalizing tease for a new Mario Kart game. Plus, to the joy of many fans, they confirmed that the Switch 2 would be backwards compatible with the original console.
In what has been a bit of a mixed bag, Nintendo assured that the Switch 2 will support both physical and digital games from the original Switch. However, they also cautioned that there might be some games from the original lineup that won’t work perfectly, or at all, on the new system.
As excitement builds, everyone is marked for a global launch in 2025, although Nintendo is keeping the exact release date under wraps for now.
In typical Nintendo fashion, the reveal trailer has already sparked a lot of chatter among fans and industry insiders alike. Keep an eye out for any new details in tomorrow’s presentation.
