According to the latest updates, NVIDIA’s board partners were recently informed about a delay in the release of the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Instead of launching as initially expected, these GPUs will now hit the market a few weeks later.
As we edge closer to the launch of the GeForce RTX 5070, murmurs about a delay in the RTX 5060 series release have been growing. Initially, the buzz was that we could expect these cards to be launched in March and available for purchase in April. However, recent reports suggest the timeline has been pushed back.
While the exact reasons for the delay remain somewhat mysterious, it seems certain that all of NVIDIA’s board partners have been officially briefed. This postponement hasn’t been publicly confirmed by NVIDIA itself, but given the whispers of bugs and supply chain hiccups affecting the RTX 5060 series, it’s not too surprising. Nonetheless, NVIDIA has yet to make any formal statement regarding these issues.
NVIDIA communicated internally with its AIC partners through email, explaining that the release of both the RTX 5060 Ti and the RTX 5060 series products would be delayed. They indicated that the RTX 5060 Ti 16G and 8G versions might be released around mid-April, while the new RTX 5060 series could see a mid-May release. The precise dates are pending further updates from NVIDIA.
As things stand, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is likely to debut sometime in mid-April, followed by the GeForce RTX 5060 about a month later, in mid-May. Both versions of the RTX 5060 Ti are expected to launch simultaneously, though the definitive launch dates remain undisclosed, even to NVIDIA’s board partners.
Interestingly, this delay might result in the RTX 5060 series hitting the shelves alongside AMD’s upcoming RX 9060 series GPUs. The AMD range, which includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models, offers both 8 GB and 16 GB versions, positioning them as direct rivals to the RTX 5060 Ti’s 8 GB and 16 GB options. Although the exact release date for the RX 9060 series hasn’t been announced, it’s rumored to be launching in the second quarter as well.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to serve as NVIDIA’s follow-up to the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of speedy GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. Similarly, the RTX 5060 is designed to succeed the RTX 4060, equipped with 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Interestingly, a recent leak hinted at an RTX 5060 model with 12 GB of VRAM, though it’s not official yet. If true, this could give NVIDIA an edge over the RX 9060, which is anticipated to launch exclusively with the 8 GB variant.
