At NeocoreGames, we’re thrilled to announce that “King Arthur: Legion IX” is headed to Xbox Series X|S. This game is a turn-based RPG centered around characters and set in the dark fantasy realm familiar from “King Arthur: Knight’s Tale.” It doesn’t matter if you’re an old hand at strategy games or just setting foot in Avalon. We’ve crafted this standalone journey with you in mind, bringing new heroes, a fresh narrative, and lots of challenging skirmishes that demand your finest tactics.
A new danger has emerged on Avalon, and it’s unlike anything you’ve faced before. The legendary Ninth Legion of Rome, thought lost to history, has risen from Tartarus and arrived on the mysterious island. These Roman soldiers, led by Gaius Julius Mento—a once noble tribune now commanding a demonic legion courtesy of Emperor Septimus Sulla—have grand visions of creating an Eternal Rome in Avalon. However, first, Gaius must gather his dispersed troops.
As Gaius Julius Mento, players step into a narrative rich with Roman themes. You’ll lead the Ninth Legion against nightmarish creatures, fierce Pict clans, and the ancient Fomorians, with even a chance of encountering Sir Mordred’s Round Table knights introduced in “King Arthur: Knight’s Tale.” Across fifteen meticulously designed missions, you’ll chart Gaius’ journey through Avalon, with each decision determining his destiny.
If you’re a fan of strategy and narratives weaving through intricate characters, “King Arthur: Legion IX” has much to offer. You will direct a squad of five to six unique heroes as you navigate through Avalon. The combat system is strategic, involving cover tactics, placing traps, and executing flanking moves. Mastering the overwatch and opportunity mechanics can effectively swing battles in your favor.
The game introduces six unique heroes, each coming with distinctive skills and battle strategies. It’s up to you to develop these characters, improve their skills, and equip them with powerful artifacts tailored to your play style. Whether you want to approach battles methodically or charge headlong into the fray, “Legion IX” provides the tools needed to develop your characters in your preferred manner.
Building Nova Roma is a crucial endeavor in your conquest of Avalon. We’ve made sure that city-building is an integral game component, involving managing resources and upgrading facilities to prepare your heroes for future challenges. It’s vital to balance the building of your stronghold with the needs of your legion.
The campaign centers on critical choices that will shape Gaius Julius Mento’s fate. Your decisions don’t just affect the narrative they actively impact the broader conflict across Avalon.
We’re excited to see how you’ll lead the Ninth Legion when we launch on May 6, 2025.
