Oh man, where do I even start with this? So, Limited Run Games just dropped the bomb that Gex Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch, and let me tell you, it’s like a nostalgia overload. Remember Gex, right? The wise-crackin’ gecko – yep, he’s back in a big way. And seriously, they’ve got three versions for the physical release. Because why not?
Anyway, we’re talking about the original Gex, Gex: Enter the Gecko, and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko all wrapped in one package. They’ve fancied things up with stuff like being able to rewind and save anywhere. Not gonna lie, having a rewind feature would’ve saved me so many headaches back in the day. Plus, for Enter the Gecko and Deep Cover, there’s a snazzy 16:9 widescreen thing happening. Oh, and you can do a full 360-degree spin now. Feeling dizzy just thinking about it.
Now, here’s where it gets wild with those editions. There’s the plain-Jane Standard Edition, which is $39.99. It’s got the basics – like the game disc or cartridge, in case anyone was wondering. Then you’ve got the Classic Edition for $74.99. It throws in a Steelbook and poster. Who doesn’t love a good ol’ poster, right? But wait, the Tail Time Edition at a whopping $199.99 – it’s bonkers. You get this inflatable Gex doll. Yeah, you heard right, inflatable. Plus, trading cards and some fancy artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. The whole shebang!
Officially, you can grab the Gex Trilogy digitally on the Nintendo eShop as of June 16, 2025. But if you’re all about snatching up those physical editions, they should hit later in 2025. Pre-orders are already open, but don’t dawdle. They’re closing on July 6, 2025.
And just to sprinkle in some excitement – there’s a trailer out there somewhere. Probably. Who knows what’s going on with the embeds these days? Alright, off I go, reminiscing about those tail-slapping times.
