Alright, here goes.

You know that feeling when summer’s just cruising along, and you’re not really paying attention to the calendar? Suddenly, bam! It’s almost time for that new Battlefield game. EA spilled the beans that we’d get some news this summer, but seriously, what’s up with dropping so much and still not giving it a name? Weird, right?
Anyway, get this—there’s an open beta coming for this no-name game. Like, how do you even beta test something without a name? But hey, EA went and did it. Surprising move, maybe, or just EA being EA.
Funny story, Battlefield’s big news actually came from a tweet where they seemed more into chatting weapons than the beta. Typical misdirection, and then suddenly, there it was—beta news dropped casually like you would a random fact at a party.
Here’s the tweet: “Open Weapons vs Closed Weapons. Why not both?” Made me think of tacos, honestly. But the real dig was about letting players mess around with weapon choices in some new playlists. All while the name of the game remains a mystery. Go figure.
So, fans—we’ve got major drama here—hate the weapon-class free-for-all DICE teased back in May. Predictably, long-time die-hards freaked out. Really got them riled up, ya know? But DICE assured us it was just a ‘let’s-see-how-this-goes’ kinda thing in Battlefield Labs, aka test zone central.
I gotta say though, when DICE confirmed that every weapon will indeed be available for all classes, fans’ worst fears kinda came alive. It’s like, “Stick to your classes, man!” they yelled, wanting the game to cling to its OG style with class limitations.
So the tweet admitted fans want the classic Battlefield back—I’m nodding along too. But are those playlists gonna be there at launch? Hard to say. Maybe the beta will be the grand experiment—like, will players even notice these changes? Or care?
One thing’s for sure, the next Battlefield reveal—and that beta—is coming fast. Keep your eyes peeled. Let’s see where this ride takes us.
