I’ve been thinking a lot about this recent update in Marvel Rivals. Like, April 30th rolled in with a whole mix of changes and tweaks that I’m not sure everyone saw coming. First off, Doctor Strange’s skin from that Multiverse of Madness movie—everyone got all heated about that. So, there were these zombie hands or whatever, right? I remember seeing them in the promo images, and I’m thinking, “Oh, cool, undead vibe!” But then, bam! You buy it, and nada. No zombie hands unless you bust out some special moves. Talk about a bummer. I guess NetEase felt the heat and decided to roll out some changes in this patch.
And then, yeah, there were these new skins for Winter Soldier and Black Panther. Pretty hyped about those—who wouldn’t be? They’re adding some new event, too—Hellfire Gaia: Moments or something. Free costumes are always nice. I was dreaming about Wolverine’s costume. Same dream you have, right? Anyway, that event starts on May 2 and wraps by May 23. Mark your calendars or don’t. No pressure.
And bugs—oh man, the bugs! It was like, fix this and tweak that. Wolverine’s moves got a pass, and Star-Lord’s got some speed quirks reset. Speaking of, Star-Lord blasting around reminded me of a mixtape I had years back. Feels like a time-loop in my head. But that might be me just trailing off…
And there’s a bit about Thor’s outfit getting a clear view now. No blocked views when you’re zooming around as the god of thunder. Seems they’re recalibrating stuff for setting scores, too. Does anyone else find that fascinating? They’re always recalibrating—like trying to use a ruler on a cloud. Might make things a bit sensible for us mere mortals.
Funny thing about accounts—you can delete them while logged out. Sort of like breaking up with someone via text, I guess. Bit of closure now, thanks to NetEase.
Oh, funny bug fix tidbit: there’s this one with The Thing that got on my nerves. Like, targeting teammates instead of enemies? That’s just bonkers—and awesome in that head-scratch kind of way. But it’s fixed now, so fair’s fair.
There you have it, a free-association wander through the latest in Marvel Rivals. To anyone trying to keep up, let’s be honest, it’s like herding cats. All in all, seems they’re laying groundwork for what’s coming next month, which promises to be another ride altogether. Fingers crossed it’s as wild as this one.
