Okay, here’s the wild ride of Capcom’s latest numbers—or at least, how I saw it:
Alright, so Capcom, the big shot in the gaming world, just threw some serious numbers at us. I’m not gonna lie, I almost fell off my chair. They’re sitting on a stack of cash—about ¥45.5 billion yen, or something like $302.2 million, just for a few months until the end of June. Honestly, try wrapping your head around that!
Now, I’m no numbers whiz, but that’s up a whopping 53.7% from last time. And I get it, a lot of this magic is coming from their game side of the biz. They’ve got titles like Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil (in its various forms) holding the fort. And don’t even get me started on Street Fighter 6. It’s like they threw a party, and everyone showed up.
Side note: Remember that Devil May Cry anime on Netflix? Yeah, seems like folks couldn’t stop buying Devil May Cry 5 because of it. Go figure—who knows why those things stick. Anyway, this game alone moved 10.5 million units, with 1.7 million of those flying off the (virtual) shelves recently. Can’t say I blame them, it’s a bit addictive.
Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 Remake are making waves too—12.2 million for Village and 10.6 million for RE4. Those are big numbers, right? Meanwhile, Street Fighter 6—five million copies sold! Probably helped they put it on the Nintendo Switch 2. Or maybe people just like punching stuff. Who can say?
Now, when you add everything up, Capcom put out 14.16 million units in just these few months. That’s, like, 48% more than their previous haul. Yeah, Capcom’s on a roll.
Oh, and just to top it off, their operating profit isn’t lagging behind either—it skyrocketed by 90.8%, reaching ¥24.6 billion yen, which is around $163.4 million. Seriously, these numbers are making my head spin.
Anyway—wait, where was I? Right, Capcom’s raking it in, and it’s kind of mind-boggling. But hey, good for them, I guess!
