Oh man, where to even begin? So, Capcom finally gave us all a sneak peek at what’s coming in Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. It was like a big moment in their June Spotlight livestream, where they decided to spill the beans on everything. Or at least, a lot of things. Honestly, there’s quite a bit to unpack here.
First off, jot this down — June 30, mark it! That’s when Title Update 2 is going to hit us smack in the face. Probably gonna start early on a Monday, yikes. Gotta be offline for a few hours, though. Maintenance stuff, you know how it goes.
Anyway, what’s in this update? Lots, actually, but let’s talk about the monsters — those big, scary things we’re all here for, right? Lagiacrus and Seregios are making a grand entrance. Lagiacrus is interesting, cause now we’re diving — kinda literally — into underwater combat! Apparently, it’s a what’s-you-call-it, immersive, experience… because underwater, weapons aren’t just freely available. Seriously.
But wait, there’s a catch. To deal with Lagiacrus, you gotta complete a main mission. “A World Turned Upside Down,” and there’s a side mission too. Make sure you’re up there in your Hunter Rank — 31 or something.
Oh, Seregios too, by the way — same deal. New armor sets for everybody, hunters and Palicos. And hey, if you’re up high enough, like HR 41, these two come back even tougher. Tempered versions. Good luck with that.
Jumping topics like I jump queues, TU2 also brings in Uth Duna’s scarier cousin, the Arch-tempered version, arriving July 30. Just an epic beast to face, if you’re brave enough. Actually, it’s part of some Event Quest or whatever. Go grind for that gear, I guess.
What was it about weapons? Oh yeah, layered weapons! FINALLY, right? Change how your weapon looks without messing with its stats. There’s a whole thing about crafting the final weapon in any tree to do this. Crafting, crafting, crafting. Are you still with me?
And hey, you can change your main handler from Alma to Erik. Big highlight, no? There’s a new support hunter too, sword and shield type.
Ah, and the seasonal stuff? Flamefete, the Festival of Accord. From July 23 to August 6. Pretty neat chance to snag some special armor and stuff. Decorate your camp fancy-style.
Capcom did hint at another update — Title Update 3 in September. New monsters, new festivals, maybe less negativity? That’s kind of the hope, because, honest talk here, Wilds isn’t doing so hot on Steam. Player base shrinking faster than my attention span and reviews are… let’s just say, less than kind.
Crossing fingers that this update turns things around and doesn’t just end up being a footnote in gaming history. Who knows?
