Looks like one of Halo Infinite’s Forge rockstars, The Forge Falcons, is bailing—from what I gather, they’re cheesed off with the whole “no love from the top” deal or whatever. They’ve been whipping up some of the coolest stuff for Halo Infinite’s Forge mode, and now their exit feels like someone kicked you in the shin under the table—unexpectedly painful.
So yeah, Forge first popped up in Halo 3 back in 2007 (I think?), and finally sauntered into Halo Infinite around late 2022. Honestly, it’s this rad map-making toolkit, and of course, players have been crafting all sorts of wild adventures. It’s like giving a kid a box of crayons and watching them doodle masterpieces. With Halo Studios (formerly 343—what’s with the name shuffle?) easing off on new maps, these community creators kept the good times rolling.
Anyway, the Falcons aren’t just anybody in the Forge scene. They’ve rolled out big-ticket projects like Inheritor battle royale and all that. Oh, and there’s a zombie thing, “Survive the Undead” (because who doesn’t like whacking zombies?), and Helljumpers, which feels like Helldivers 2 going bonkers in co-op mode. Despite all this swagger, seems like they didn’t even get a nod from Halo Studios—not even a pat on the back.
So they’re calling it quits. A tweet—the modern love letter—spilled the tea on how their gig was all give and no take. Think about it: you work your tail off, your stuff’s blasted all over Xbox promotions, but no genuine thank you? Kind of leaves you feeling used, right?
What’s next? The Forge Falcons are angling toward Fortnite using Unreal Engine. Apparently, Epic Games rolls out the red carpet for creators through its Island Creator Program. Who knew? Meanwhile, Halo Studios is mum on their departure, though the grapevine hints at a potential Halo: Combat Evolved revamp. Fans, unsurprisingly, are throwing their weight behind the Falcons, shouting for fair play and proper shout-outs.
Anyway—oops, this is me getting carried away. But seriously, they deserve better. End of rant.
